Show ire Low-income heat bill funds availablfi The State of Utah will receive approximately $13 million in Federal funds from the Department Depart-ment of Health and Human Services to assist low-income households pay high heat bills during the winter months of 1980-81. The Department of Social Services has been designated to administer ad-minister the funds. According Ac-cording to Judie Barrus, Program Director the funds are designed to ease, not remove, the burden of home heating costs. Eligibility for the program pro-gram is based on income criteria of 125 percent or below of the Community Service Administration's poverty guideline. Eligi ble households will receive payments based on the areas of the state in which they live, the type of heating fuel they use, and their income. There will be several different payment levels across the state. All households will need to submit an application and certify their gross income in-come for the last 90 days or one year. Payments will usually be made to the heating supplier specified by the eligible households. Households who are not directly or indirectly affected af-fected by increased home , heating costs are not eligible for the program.
