GOODRICH Goodrich dies in Murray, Utah George Remington Goodrich, 91 , died in the Meadow View Convalescent center in Murray, Utah, Dec. 11, 1980. Born Aug. 1, 1889 in Vernal, he was the son of George Leonard and Marian Vilate Remington Goodrich. He married Alice Bessie Glenn Feb. 4, 1929 in the LDS Salt Lake Temple and were later divorced. He married Janet E. Haley July 26, 1962 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a farmer and state road supervisor. A veteran of World War I, he served in the Marines, a High Priest in the LDS church, former First Councilor in the Bishopric and served an LDS mission to North and South Dakota. Services were Monday, Dec. 15 in the Naples Ward chapel. Marion Southam gave the family prayer and Bishop Lawrence Kay conducted the service. Virdon Goodrich sang "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," and Darrell Wahlen gave the invocation. Following remarks by Bishop Kay, Dee Ann Gilbert sang, 'How Great Thou Art." Phil Watkins spoke and two musical numbers "Sometime We'll Understand," Un-derstand," and "That Silver-Haired Daddy of Mine," were rendered. Lee Noorda spoke and Steven D. Goodrich gave the benediction. Robert Caldwell dedicated the grave in the Vernal Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Dell Bass, Darrell Wahlen, Kenneth Southam, Larry Stone, Paul Dockery, and Steve Goodrich. He was buried with military rites. Survivors of his wife of Ellenville, N.Y.; sons and daughter, Ernest G. Goodrich of Irvine, Calif., Ellis E. Goodrich of Hayward, Calif ., Marlin G. Goodrich of Riverside, Calif., CD. Dee Caldwell of Nuevo, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Betty Jane) Morse of Banning, Calif., Mrs. Glen (Lois Marie) Bass of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Arthur (Eunice) Stone ot Vernal and Mrs. Marion (Eula) Southam of Roosevelt; 38 grandchildren; grand-children; 41 great grandchildren; and sisters Mrs. Ester Armstrong of Tooele, Utah and Mrs. Laura V. Teeples of West Valley, Utah. |
