Show Rollover traps St. George man 3 hours in cab A flatbed truck rollover, 16 miles east of Vernal on Highway 40, trapped a Utah man inside the cab for nearly three hours before officers at the scene could extricate him, Tuesday, reported Sergeant Leonard Ferguson, Utah Highway Patrol. Mailon Arlin Barlow of Veyo, Utah, near St. George, was traveling east on Highway 40 with a load of sheet metal. "He apparently was reaching for some papers," Ferguson said. The truck turned enough to go off the south side of the road. He over corrected and the truck jack-knifed and rolled over." Officers arrived at the scene at 11:40 a.m. Barlow was out of the cab by 3:40 p.m. when he was transported to the Uintah County Hospital. "He suffered some injury, but was stable," Ferguson said. Barlow was employed with St. George Steel Co. Ferguson expressed his thanks to the Uintah rCounty-Vernal City Fire Department, EMTs and Uintah County Sheriff's office for standing by while efforts ef-forts were made to free Barlow. |
