Show Grand opening of pet shop The Tree House Pet and Supplies, Vernal's newest pet shop, held their grand opening, Saturday, Dec. 13 with the KVEL new action van supplying the promotional publicity through the radio station's remote broadcasting system. The Tree House is located at 1764 West 1000 South, Highway 40 next to Waterbed World. Ruth Ann Brinkerhoff and her mother, Peggy Jean Burris, are the shop's owners. A variety of animals, fish, reptiles and the supplies needed to make life comfortable for these pets can be found at the Tree House. Exotic breeds of birds such as cocatiels, finch's, and Amazon parrots, may be purchased or ordered from the shop. Registered Guinea pigs, hamsters, mice and snakes may be the Christmas pet you are looking for. Ferrets may also be ordered by Ruth Ann or Peggy. Ferrets, due to a county law in the Salt Lake City area, are unable to be ordered or-dered or purchased there. Both registered and unregistered canines and felines may also be obtained from the Tree House. Ruth Ann Brinkerhoff was born in Borger, Texas. Her mother and business associate, Peggy Jean Burris, was born in Hollis, Okla. Peggy Jean and her husband Mike, came to Vernal three years ago. Ruth Ann, a member of the nation-wide organization of Beta Sigma Phi and the former Vernal Express Society Editor, is married to Steve Brinkerhoff. All are Vernal residents. Ruth Ann and Peggy Jean are accepting ac-cepting registration tickets for a fish bowl and fish to be given away, Saturday, Dec. 21 at The Tree House Pet and Supplies Shop. |
