After some discussion the $9,632,293 budget was approved and adopted as proposed by me Uintah County Commissioners. Almost every county department received increases in their budgets but the overall increase in the total budget is only about $300,000 over the 1980 budget. The County Assessor budget was increased to pay for the additional costs of the state reappraisal program during 1981 and the Sheriff department was increased in anticipation of increased growth and growth-related law enforcement en-forcement work. Anticipatea revenues during 1981 are expected to be sufficient to cover the adopted budget without raising the property tax mill levy, it was pointed out by County Commissioners. Property tax revenues for 1981 are estimated at $1,283,360 figured at the present 16 63 mill assessment and approximate $100 million assessed valuation. The largest budget item in the county is $3,500,000 for the hospital which is expected to generate $3,250,000 in revenues. |
