Show KVEL gets FCC approval Jj to broadcast nighttime KVEL Inc. has announced an-nounced finalization of plans to become a full time broadcast station. General Manager, Dick Winters received notification notifica-tion from the Federal Communications Commission Com-mission in Washinton, D.C. that approval has been given for KVEL to operate day and night. The application for nighttime operation by KVEL has gone through several phases of engineering studies and FCC review. Winters expects ex-pects additional construc tion to begin in the spirng with survey and tower location to begin immediately. im-mediately. The hew operation includes in-cludes a new RCA solid state transmitter which is expected to arrive in April. Construction including in-cluding the new transmitter, transmit-ter, new directional antenna and new building additions should be complete com-plete by mid-summer 1981. KVEL will continue with their daytime power of 5000 watts, non-directions, non-directions, and will be with 1000 watts ntghtt with a directional tern.
