Show Maples i Jo Openshaw Phone 789-3157 Karren grandson to serve LDS mission Edris Karren received word that her grandson, Robert Karren of Smithfield, had received an LDS mission call to Argentina. Robert is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Jay B. Karren and will leave in February for his mission. George R. Goodrich, a former resident of Naples died in Salt Lake City and the funeral was held in the Naples Chapel Monday, Dec. 15. Noah Rodeback returned from a visit with his son Wilbur and family in Idaho. The Camp Porter Merrell Daughters of the Pioneers held their Christmas party at the home of Elva Manwaring last week. Pot luck luncheon was served and gifts exchanged. Marvel Gardiner had a quilting party last Wednesday. Duane and Vadrus Wall, Craig and Marj Martin, and Carl and Shirley Oldaker were in Provo two days last week. Willis and Carol Southam returned last week from Hillspring, Alberta, Canada, where they had visited a few days with the Mark Smith family. Mrs. Smith is the Southam's daughter, Dianne. Teresa Kay and daughter Linzi accompanied ac-companied by her mother, Ida Mor-tensen, Mor-tensen, went to Salt Lake City Friday on business. Kolby Kay stayed with his grandparents, the Lawrence Kays. Carl Oldaker went to Salt Lake City last Monday on business. , Reva Ruppe's grandson, Glen Ruppe, fell from a shed roof and was seriously injured. He was taken by ambulance to the Uintah County Hospital. He was released Sunday and is recovering at home. Glen is the ten-year-old son of Clyde and Alice Ruppe. Dale and Betty Merrell returned from a two weeks stay in Denver, Colo. Mr. Merrell was there on business. Elaine Merrell was an overnight visitor with her parents the Grant Merrells Friday night. She returned to Salt Lake City Saturday afternoon. She is a nurse at the Primary Children's Hospital. Janeen Cook of Duchesne visited over the weekend with her parents, the Morris Cook's and family. |
