Show Vernal nets first place in Colorado The trip to Denver, Colo., was worth it for the Vernal Junior High team as Hey pocketed first place in the Castle Sock Tournament, Saturday with a :otal of 217 points. Seven Vernal Panthers advanced into ie championship finals and six aisslers pocketed first place crowns. Ryan Siddoway, 75; Mike Smith, 85; Craig Funk, 95; Kary McNeill, 112; filbert Woody, 119 and Neldon Smuin, 13, garnered first places. Richard Horrocks, 75, placed second and David Gurr, 90; Murray Johnson, 126 and ffike Robbins, 145, placed third. Troy Oaks, 132 and George Cook, 105, netted fourth places. Siddoway toppled Peer of Parker, 7 to in the championship contest and defeated Roberts of Castle Rock. Smith inned Gates of Air Academy and ilanied Martin of Newton, 8 to 0. Funk ' imped Owen, Castle Rock, 15 to 3, in 4 finals and topples Morris, Parker, -1. McNeill decisioned Wathrich of irker, 6-2, in the championship en-xinter en-xinter and pinned Berzin of Castle xi and decisioned Leob, Parker, 8-2. Woody pinned Diederichs of Newton i the finals and pinned Carrioc of Ari itademy and Jenkins of Parker, inuin pinned Woodrum of Parker in ie championship match and smashed TJson, Air Academy, 12-1.
