Tuesday evening- of last week Esther chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star held a delightfully de-lightfully arranged meeting in the chapter rooms of the Masonic temple, complimentary complimen-tary to Mrs. Cora Adams, worthy grand matron 'Of the order. The pretty work of the chapter was exemplified and- Miss Islah Davles and Miss Hattie Pugh were given the degrees of the order. After the work, luncheon was served followed by a most enjoyable social hour. The committee com-mittee in charge of the entertainment consisted of -Mr. and Mrs. George P. Hcr-vey, Hcr-vey, Mrs. Ethel Gilpin Hendrickson, Sidney Sid-ney Kasner, Mrs. Grace Hamilton and Mrs. Harry Judd. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gunnell and son, FraneU. who spent the winter in Denver, returned home Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Angus Stewart went to Green Pivtr Monday to meet their son, Colon, who has' recently returned from overseas. He was en route to Camp Lewis, where his company will receive its discharge. He will then come to Evan-ston Evan-ston to visit his parents indefinitely. Mr. and Mrs. 'Charles Stahiey. who have been visiting relatives and friends in California Cali-fornia for several months, returned to their home in Evanston Tuesday. They made the trip by auto. Mrs. Cora Adams of Sheridan was the house guest of Mrs. J. T. Romiek during her stay in Evanston. She left Wednesday Wednes-day evening for Green River. Mrs. Louise Gutting is spending the week in Salt Lake visiting friends. In the recent contest held by the Ladies of the Maccabees, Mrs. Edward Horrocks was the winner of the trip to Port Huron, Hu-ron, Mich. She expects to leave the last of next month and will bring her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Claude Parton, and baby home wiili her when she returns. Mr. and Mrs. Wililam Gilpin left Fri-day Fri-day evening for Chicago, where they will attend a meeting of the International Railway association, Mr. Gilpin going as a delegate fiom this city. Mrs. Victor Hendriekson and little son left Tuesday evening for Kansas City, where they will spend several weeks visiting visit-ing relatives and friends. They were accompanied by Miss Valerie Moslander, who will also visit friends in Kansas City. With the members of her sewing club as guests. Mrs. Van A. Rupe entertained at a 6 o'clock dinner party Wednesday evening at her home on Seventh street. A crystal vase of spring flowers made an attractive centerpiece for the large oval table. The place cards were a dainty butterfly design. Following tho dinner a ioliy time was spent in knitting and sewing. sew-ing.
