Show TEAMSTERS' STRIKE IS NOT YET SETTLED OGDEN, May 17. The teamsters' strike upon the North ashington avenue paving, pav-ing, had not t.eon settled up to a late hour today. In the conference with the strikers' committee last night, it wap stated by P. J. Moran, president of tho Moran Construction company, that the demand of the men tor $4 a day was a fair wage, but the company had made the bid upon the scale of last summer, which was for $3.50 peY day. Mr. Moran offered to grant the increase to $4 a day on and after July 15, in the meantime paying the $3.50 schtdule. At the conclusion of the conference the teamsters' committee voted not to accept the pioposal of Mr. Moran. who said that he would give a reply by Monday evening as to whe ther he would grant the demand or withstand a tie-up. |
