Show MRUS BUSINESS Edmonds Tells Why Owners Own-ers Stick by Established Dealers, It is a well-known fact among automobile automo-bile dealers that it requires an immense amount of work and a large amount of capital to market an unknown car in the United States. Likewise it requires capital cap-ital and resources to successfully markfet a car in this intermountain territory. This perhaps accounts for the aversion of many dealers to a new line, as the Initial outlay and work of selling1 is not in keeping1 with the possible remuneration remunera-tion a dealer can earn, according" to W. S. Edmonds, s'ales manager lor the Browning- Automobile company, distributors distribu-tors of Willys-Knight and Overland pas-Benper pas-Benper cars and Master trucks. "The last few years there has not been over a half dozen new cars permanently represented in the Utah territory," continued con-tinued Mr. Edmonds. "And the buying public is becoming more insistent in its demands in buying from well-represented and old-established factories and distributors. distrib-utors. The difficulties a new dealer has in handling a new line of cars in this territory as above outlined is the reason why so many new representatives of unknown un-known cars starting in business are here today and gone tomorrow. "This explains the reason why so many have failed in the automobile business in direct contrast with the many successful dealers. We find it a pleasure to repre- sent cars as widely and favorably known I as the Overland and Willys-Knight. The production of Overland cars is greater than that of any other car in this class. And, beyond question, it is the most widely advertised of all automobiles. We have had the ag-ency for the Overland virtually since the car was first manu- factured. It is noted for its reliability, and on the strength of the Overland car we have been able to build up a reputation reputa-tion throughout the intermountain states which we take pride in saying is not exceeded ex-ceeded by any other firm. In this territory ter-ritory the name of Browning is permanently perma-nently linked with the words Overland and Willys-Knight. A dealer succeeds Or falls according to the reputation established es-tablished by the car he sells. Purchasers must be satisfied if the deaelr is to succeed. suc-ceed. "Our service department has proved perhaps the greatest asset we have in the handling of Overland cars, and it is the service with which we furnish Overland Over-land owners, coupled with the reliability and durability of the Overland car which has formed the foundation of our immense im-mense business throughout this territory." |
