Spectacular Patriotic Production, 'America First," Heads New Or-pheum Or-pheum Bill Opening Tonight. 66 M ERICA FIRST," the feature head-liner head-liner of t he new vaudeville bill opening at the Orpheum theater this evening, eve-ning, is a pal rlotic musical military offering of-fering which no true-blooded American should miss. It is not a mere flag-wavinsr, theatrical exhibition designed to win applause, ap-plause, but a faithful reproduction of life in the different branches of the national military and naval services, supplemented with sufficient story, musical entertainment entertain-ment and spectacular effect to make it one of the most popular acts seen in vaudeville for several seasons past. The cast consists of eighteen talented per- sons, headed by Martin Van Bergen, who possesses a deep, resonant voice, vibrant, voluminous and musical. Three other acts of headline caliber also find place on the bill, which comprises a total of eight acts. The Paihe News, with the latest current events, is 'a part of tho bill. "Miss Hamlet," a Musical Comedy of Exceptional Worth, Heads New Bill at Pantages. C1 VERYOXE knows of "Hamlet." but -J that there is a Miss Hamlet is something some-thing new. Well, there is a Miss Hamlet, and she will be the headline attraction on the new bill opening at the Pantages theater this afternoon. "Miss Hamlet" is the title of a musical comedy travesty that will headline t lie new show, and this act is claimed to be the first travesty on any of Shakespeare's masterpieces. Miss Pauline Barri, a talented actress of national repute, lias the name part in this production. Miss Leila Shaw and her company of artists will also be on this week's new bill, with their presentation of "A Truthful Truth-ful Liar." Howard, Kibel and Herbert will entertain enter-tain with some new songs and comedy. The Three Lyars, reported to be vaudeville's vaude-ville's best singers, will present "Bits of Vaudeville." Cats and Rats will appear together in a unique number, that of Swain's Cats and Rats. Pearl White, the charming Pathe actress, will also appear on this week's big bill. She will be seen in the fourth episode of "The Fatal Ring." |
