Show WINTER SET RIGHT BY DRAFT BOARD Contrary to the report fhat Lewis George Winter of Rexburg, Idaho, failed to report for medical examination before be-fore the draft board In his district, and that on account of hia failure so to report re-port ids name was handed to Special Investigator Leon Cone for apprehension, apprehen-sion, word was received yesterday to the effect that Mr. Winter has been serving as a missionary in the southern state.-: for the past two years and, while he did not report for examination on the day set, 'he was examined a day or two later. Mr. "Winter had gone to Tennessee to fill a mission for the Mormon church and at the -time his name was drawn was in an isolated district and was not notified. According to information received re-ceived here, not only the local board in Ufxburg was satisfied that there was no a t tempt to evade military service, but also the local board in Tennessee, where he passed his physical examination, did not mention any attempt at evasion. |
