Show UTAH DRAFT MADE AT $4020.35 COST Disbursing Agent F. V. Fitz Gerald Submits Report of Expenses Entailed En-tailed in Getting Men. According to a financial statement issued by F. V. Fitz Geraid. disbursing disburs-ing agtMit in Utah for the federal government, gov-ernment, it has cost the federal government gov-ernment $4020. no to conduct the selective se-lective draft in Utah thus far, of which $2993.50 has been paid, and there are still claims amounting to $1026.85 pending. In eleven counties of the state and in division Xo. 2 of Salt Lake county no . expense w.luuever was entailed in conducting the draft, all of the members mem-bers of the draft boards, as well as employees, haying-donated their services. ser-vices. The counties on the honor roll in this respect are (.'ache, Duchesne, Grand, Iron, Kane. Millard, Morgan, Piute, San Juan,. Sanpete and Uintah. The total expense to Salt Lake in completing the draft was $1152.05, or less than $2 per man, including the quota and the 10 per cent reserve. Salt Lake City division Xo. 3 entailed the. lowest expense of any of the districts dis-tricts in the citv, securing 32S men at a cost of $217.10. The heaviest expense was incurred by Ogden and Weber county. Og-den's Og-den's bill for the draft amounted to $7.'!0 and Weber county $45.45. By comparison, division .No. 3, Salt Lake, secured four times as many men at an expense of $220, than Ogden at an expense ex-pense of $730. The statement submitted by Mr. Fitz Gerald does not include the cost of meal tickets or transportation of men to mobilization camps, nor telegrams, tele-grams, all of which are paid from Washington. |
