Show WOMAN ATTACKS TWO DETECTIVES Proprietress of Eesort Gives Battle When Apprehended for Alleged Violations of tho Law. Biting and scratching Detectives Bert II. Seager and J. A. Egbert, who placed her under arrest, Cora Thompson, one ot; the proprietors of a disorderly house on Commercial street raided by the police ; ten days ago, again fell into the toils , of the law yeserday, when she was ar rested at 71 Commercial street, on three charges violating the liquor ordinance, j keeping a disorderly house, and assault ; and battery. She is alleged to have st ruck a man who entered her house, 1 and this forms the basis of the latter charge. According to tho officers, the Thompson Thomp-son woman put up a strenuous fight against them. Tbey were forced to pull her down stairs. In so doing the woman lot the heel oiY one of her shoes, and her shirtwaist was torn. Vera Sanderson, 23 years of age, was arrested at the same address and charged with robbery and resorting in J a disorderly house. She is alleged to j have robbed of $25 the man whom the i Thompson woman is accused of strik-1 ing. I The Thompson woman is scheduled to j appear before the city commission today! to state whv an application for a room- ! ing house license at 71 Commercial street, made by her, should not be denied. |
