A dispatch to the Times from Amsterdam Am-sterdam quotes a message from Sofia to the effect that after Bucharest Bu-charest is taken the central powers will capture Avlona, Albania, and Join hands with Greece. In Rumania the forces of the central powers are driving appreciably nearer Bucharest. Bu-charest. Already almost encompassed on the south and southwest by the invaders, the capital apparently Is being vapidly approached from the west and the northwest, north-west, witli the Rumanians and Russians nowhere able to stem the tide. The encircling en-circling movement in the northwest from the regions of Tergovistea and Petrosita is dangerously threatening the town of Ploechti, and the only railroad running from Bucharest, except east. Indications are that the Teutons soon will be at the doors of the capital. In tlie northwest, from the Carpathians to the Moldavian frontier region, the Russian Rus-sian offensive is making little progress. Petrograd announces the capture of another an-other range of heights on the Moldavia front and admits the recapture by the Teutons in the wooded Carpathian sector of a height south of Voroneshka.
