Show MR. WHEELER'S ADDRESS. The address of Harry A. Wheeler of Chicago at the Bonneville club dinner was a masterpiece. There was no appeal ap-peal to the passions, no attempt to distort dis-tort facts. On the contrary, everything pertaining to the welfare of the people of the United States was reviewed in the light of reason and without bias. The address was convincing to those who heard it, and none the less so to those who read it in The Tribune. As president of the United States Chamber of Commerce, member of federal commissions com-missions and head and director cf several sev-eral Chicago financial institutions, Mr. Wheeler has been in position to obtain a clear insight as to the existing conditions condi-tions in this country and is therefore qualified to speak upon the great questions ques-tions of the day. Hence his Bonneville Bonne-ville club address may be set down as a masterly presentation of facts that cannot be controverted. |
