Show County UJorEiors Liny Get 7 Pay Increase Davis County commissioners commis-sioners have suggested that county department heads figure their budgets on a tentative ten-tative seven percent salary increase for all county employees, but they said the figure is "tentative." RODNEY Walker, clerk-auditor clerk-auditor said this figure was based on a report from Bountiful Boun-tiful Office of Employment Security that the cost of living had increased 6.7 percent over the last year. Commissioners Commis-sioners said that employees may not get this annual increase. It will depend on. how the budget works out, they said. Mr. Walker said this seven percent suggestion is only to help department heads in figuring their budget. "This figure may change when the merit system is adopted in January and when merit increases are figured into the salaries," he said. IN MEETING with the health board and the mental health advisory board, both Dr. Richard Johns and Dr. Russell Williams had said they disapproved of the across the board increase and wanted some leeway in determining deter-mining the salary increases for their employees. The raise" currently under consideration would amount to an across-the-board increase. Commissioners said the county has not determined whether an anniversary or longevity increase will also be considered, rk |
