Show By MARY LANDEN 292-5985 The kids got off school early today so that many of them could go with dad on the annual an-nual evacuation of the valley for the deer hunt. We wish all the best of luck in bagging their deer and returning... safely home. Those who found their "dear" last week and took her to the Stake Harvest Ball had a marvelous time. Those in the Viewmont Seminary program enjoyed their opening open-ing social the same night last week. Did you know there is going to be a Stake Chess Tournament? Tour-nament? Ward play begins next week on Saturday, Oct. 29. when Bishop of the Third Ward, Bob Tibbetts, his wife Bonnie and children moved uphill recently to Chelsea Cove, it became necessary to release that Bishopric and sustain a new one. Welcome to Jim and Amy Moulton at 2712 Orchard. They are also newlyweds, with their wedding on July 12. Jim, the manager of the Trolly North Theatres, comes from Sugarhouse. Amy, a daughter of Harry and Beverlee Blundell ot Val Ver-da, Ver-da, works with Jim at the theatre and also teaches at the Gingerbread House Preschool. Pre-school. Val Verda Second Ward is having a unique ward budget event this month called a "Talent Sharing Contest." Each family, individual or group is asked to start with $2 or something of equivalent value, and then work to increase that taient as much as possible by Nov. 9 using whatever creative talent they can. Some might tie a quilt, bake a cake, do woodwork, sell fruit, purchase stocks and watch them grow (?), entertain, enter-tain, etc. Winners will be de-i de-i termined in three categories: I most increase, most creativity, crea-tivity, and most effort. On Friday, Nov. 11, the contest will culminate in a big dinner with movies and announcement an-nouncement of the winners. Moving in at 206 East Bonneville Bon-neville Drive are Alan and Nancy Cardall and their three children, Shelly, Jenny and Joey. Although both are originally from Bountiful, they moved here from Granger. Alan says (with the ad) "Joe Albertson owns the supermarket but the variety department belongs to me," at Five Points. Scott Hollingshead is a young man recently moved in j at 2844 South 500 West, with r his sister Robin Hewlett and her family. Scott recently returned re-turned from his California ; Oakland Mission and is : employed by the Athletic Bag f Co. He graduated from : Skyline High in Salt Lake City I and is engaged to be married in December. |
