Show Golden Years Center Events The Golden Years Center will be closed on Monday, Oct. 24 for Veterans' Day. THE CENTER is in need of a volunteer teacher who will teach the art of tole painting. An instructor is needed for two or three hours each week. Many senior citizens are requesting lessons in this beautiful type of art. Please call Mary Stauffer at 295-3479 for further details if you can teach. The special monthly luncheon will be Oct. 27 at the Center, 12 noon with Aldin Hayward serving as host and master of ceremonies. GRANT Peterson has arranged a fine program which will be presented by members of the Salt Lake City recreation program. Please call in or sign up to make reservations for the lunch, a donation of 75 cents is usually paid. There will be good food, fun and prizes, a day of fun for all. HOT lunches are also served five days each week, but call in and make a reservation, reser-vation, 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Ila Case will be a volunteer instructor for a class of ceramics on Wednesdays, 1-4 p.m. LaMarr Hart will be in charge of the Friday class. 1-4 p.m. PERSONNEL and students of Arietta Williams will miss this lady who has given so much of her time and talent for the senior citizens. She has served so well for a number of years with many phases of the program at the Center. Keith Jewkes is the new volunteer lapidary teacher. Sign up right away if you are interested in taking this class. The time will be Tuesday of each week, 9 a.m. until 12 noon. IF you don't receive the activities ac-tivities schedule, call in and leave your name which will be put on the mailing list. Call 295-3479. The Nov. -Dec. schedules will be mailed out in about two weeks. Those who would like to leam the game of bridge for fun, should call or come in. Helen Maxfield, volunteer instructor, in-structor, will be teaching this game every Tuesday, 1-4 p.m. HELEN is a talented and patient lady and the Center is indeed fortunate to have her volunteer in this program. On Nov. 3, 1:30-3:30 p.m. there will be a discussion of Consumer Law. Emphasis will be on time purchases, rights of purchasers to disaffirm disaf-firm contracts, remedies of purchasers for defective appliances and many other important facts to be learned or discussed. ALL senior citizens 55 years and older are invited to participate par-ticipate in the many activities at the Center, kj |
