Show Farm Dollar Goes Long Way The farmer's dollar goes a long way In stimulating business busi-ness activity off the farm, according ac-cording to a recent analysis by USDA's Economic Research Service. The survey shows that each dollar spent by the farmer for capital items used in his farming farm-ing operation stimulates over $2 worth of business in the nation's na-tion's economy. In addition, more than 660,000 jobs are associated as-sociated with these purchases. Farmers spent $7 billion for all capital items in 1971 requiring re-quiring over $15 billion of business busi-ness activity. Biggest chunk $4.9 billion was for farm ma-" ma-" chinery. |
