Show 0ES members hold Business Meet By Lelah Wilson Cedar Chapter No. 20, Order of the Eastern Star, met Monday evening, April 12, in the Masonic Temple. Mrs. Edith Kirtley, worthy matron, presided, assisted by Ted Aaron, worthy patron. The order of business was a discussion of the forthcoming Grand Visitation on May 15. Two petitions for affiliation were presented and accepted. Marie L. Endsley, a long time member of the Order, was duly honored by the worthy matron for her many years as secretary of the organization. Marie v became a member of Van Nuys Chapter No. 338, Van Nuys, California, in 1931, and demitted to Cedar Chapter when it became a legally constituted Chapter in 1951. Since that time she has served as worthy matron of the Chapter, was appointed to several Grand Officer stations, plus her many years of devoted service as secretary of the Chapter. Mrs. Kirtley presented Marie with a "Memory Box" containing miniature souvenirs relating to the past 25 years. On reception of the gift she was given a standing ovation by the officers and members. Following the . meeting the group enjoyed a social hour and refreshments. Hostesses for the evening were Lucille Bunn, Ruth Gardner and Marjorie Arrowsmith. Tables were decorated with daffodils . surrounded with Easter bunnies and eggs. |
