Show 1- VEGETABLES ANYWHERE Home gardeners who want to grow beautiful vegetables, but don't necessarily have lots of outdoor space to do it in, are learning a new word: hydroponics. What is hydroponics? It's a way of growing plants without with-out soil and supplying all the nutrients they need artificial- -ly with a special chemical solution. It's all a matter of control. Soil is never perfect, but nutrient nu-trient solution can contain all the right food substances in the right proportions. You control how often you feed the plants and the strength of the solution. In other words, you feed your plants as you would growing children, according to their needs. What vegetables can be grown hydroponically? Experts Ex-perts at American Hydroponic Farms say that tomatoes and peppers are the best bet. In fact, using special Compact Gardens, you can grow the vegetables outdoors or on your patio, porch or terrace, even on your windowsill or in a hanging basket. |
