Show High School students to visit SUSC An expected 500 high school students from Utah, Nevada and Arizona schools will visit Southern Utah State College Friday for business and home economics competition. Home economics contestants will compete in pie making, story telling for the pre-school child and crafts made with fibers and needles. An expected 200 students will visit the SUSC family living center to compete in these ac-tiviteis ac-tiviteis according to Ada Carpenter, Car-penter, chairwoman of the SUSC family life department. She notes that special demonstrations on the use of the microwave oven will be presented by Joyce Myrick, home economist for the Litton Company, and by Mr. and Mrs. Garth Jones, demonstrating the Amana Radar Range. Officials in the SUSC business department note that an expected ex-pected 300 students will compete in first and second year typewriting, shorthand, accounting, ac-counting, filing and spelling contests. A luncheon and business meeting, special films and activities ac-tivities and an awards assembly honoring contest winners are planned for visiting business students according to Roseanna Moss, coordinator of Business i Vocational Day activities. Both business and home economics competition will i utilize SUSC students as judges and program assistants. |
