Show L00KING BACK Did you know-That know-That in 1916, reports indicated that quicksilver was 13 times heavier than water; and that every square mile of sea was estimated to contain about 12,000,000 fish! 50 years ago Two well known Southern Utah athletes went east to contest national honors. Anthone Lunt of Cedar competed in the high jump and broad jump at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. Dave Pearce of Beaver entered the 100 yard dash at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia. The two young men met athletes from all over the United States of both national and international fame. i 25 years ago Two Parowan High School students won honors at Provo Drama Festival. Miss Marilyn Ward won a superior rating in the Retold Story contest for Class B Schools. Miss LaFee Munford won the rating of excellent in the same division of the meet. The two students were accompanied to Provo by their coach, Mrs. Ivan Beem and her husband. 10 years a go-Col. go-Col. J. Frank Dalley was named Commander of XI Corps Artillery of the Utah National Guard. At that time he had 28 years of service combined in the National Guard and active duty mat included 48 months of overseas duty in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II, and in Korea during the Korean conflict.
