Show BYU officers to address youth PAROWAN-The , President Elect of the Brigham University student body, and the youngest member of the General Board of the young womens committee of the Arronic Pnesthood General Board, will speak to youth of the Parowan Stake during special workshops to be held Saturday April 24 during their annual conference. Robert Lee Stevenson, the first negro elected to serve office in the Brigham Young University Student Body will present an interesting viewpoint on the Latter-Day Saints Church. Stevenson is from Selma, Alabama and joined the Church while serving with the United States Army in Germany. After his discharge from the Army he chose to attend BYU where he has now been elected to become vice president of the student body. Susan Hill is the youngest member of the General Board. She has served a mission for the Church in Ontario, Canada. Both will participate in workshop sessions to be held on Saturday. The conference will get underway un-derway on Friday evening with a musical concert and a dance to be held at the Parowan High School. Saturday the youth and their adult advisors will travel to Zion National Park for a day-long program. They will hold various workshops, testimony meetings and participate in numerous social activities. |
