Show State Society' ( TREMONTON . f . . . TREMONTON, March 9. Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Ackerman have returned from Peoria, where they spent the winter with relatives. Dr. and Mr. C. O. Scott entertained at two tables of f0flj Friday evening. At the conclusion of the games luncheon was served. Misa TiUie Bear has reLurned from Barton, Iowa, where she spent several months as the guest of relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Joshua 'Schrank entertained enter-tained at a luncheon Sunday evening. A delightful event of the week was a shamrock parly given by Airs. Will Thompson on Friday evening in honor of her husband, who will leave next week for PorUand, Ore., to be gone during the summer. There were three tables of cards. Green and white prevailed in the color scheme. The guests included Mr. and Mr?, Will Stone, Dr. and Mrs. J. A. King, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Wingeler, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Charles. McClure and Dr. and Mrs. C. Q. Scott. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Downing are guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gep-hart Gep-hart preceding their departure for Venice, Cal., where they will make their home. Mrs. C. O. Scott entertained a few friends informally Wednesday evening. Cards were the diversion. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Gephart, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Winzeler, Mr. and Mrs. Charles McClure, Mr. and Mrs. Will Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Scott. Th'e ladies of the Home Economics club held their regular monthly meeting at "the D. D. S. hall Wednesday afternoon. Miss Webb, Mr. Stewart and Mr. Wilkins of the Agricultural college participated in the programme. Miss Webb demonstrated the making of different kinds of "war bread" and Mr. Wilkins gave a talk on the making of hot beds. The meeting was conducted by Mrs. J, A. King, president presi-dent of the club. Mrs. A. E. Allison contributed con-tributed o piano solo and little Miss Mildred Mil-dred S'tone sang several selections, Muster Mus-ter Harry Woodard rendered a beautiful violin number. 1 GARLAND 4 . , GARLAND, March 9. Mrs. Mosiah Evans of Spanish Fork, mother of M. D. Evans, spent a few , days in this city this week with her son. Missi Mabel Jensen, who Is -attending school at Brigham City, spent Saturday Satur-day and Sunday with her mother, Mrs. James Jensen. Miss Fay Hamson of Brigham City, who has been taking the place at the M. S. T. office as chief operator, returned re-turned home Wednesday. Miss Floe Peterson spent SaturcTay and Sunday with her parents in this city. She returned to Brigham City I Monday. Mrs. J. Edward Day and two sons, Taylor and Jack, left Wednesday for the Pacific coast, where they wilt spend two months. Dr. Day accompanied as far as Salt Lake City. Mrs. Parker of Hooper, mother of Mrs. W. R. Van Fleet, spent a few days in this city last week, Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Winters accompanied accompan-ied their son, Keith, as far as Ogden Sunday, on his way to Washington, where he has accepted a position. Mrs. A. S. Huish accompanied her son, Sterling, as far as Salt Lake, Tuesday, Tues-day, on his way to Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. John T. Lant of Pay-son Pay-son are visiting friends in this city. a GREENRIVER GREENRIVER, March 9. The Sorosis club met ft (lie home of Mrs. M. B. Mc-Cue Mc-Cue Wednesday afternoon. The study of "As You Like It" was led by Mrs. H. L. Spalding. After the study hour a social time was enjoyed, during which the ladies la-dies did Red Cross knitting. A light luncheon was served. Mr. and Mrs. Oren Lewis accompanied Forrest Lewis and family to Sunny aide the first of the week, where they will visit for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Lewis have heen visiting their parents here for several weeks. Mrs. J. R. Earp returned the first ol the week from Magna, wh1 -e she has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. George Clow. U H. Milton, wife and child arrived the first of the week and are visiting Mr. ana Mrs. Fred Btf.th of this city. A large crowd of young people attended tho dance given at Thompsons Saturday night of last week. .The dunce celebrated the opening of a large warehouse owned bv the Utah Eastern company. The Orand Junction orchestra furnished the music. Those in attendance from here were Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Hinrichsen, Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Phillips. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Al-bert Drake. Brown and wife have retnrnfd from a short vacation spent with relatives in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Boston have returned re-turned from a trip to California. They had been visiting their daughter, Mrs. E. Camp, in Sacramento. Mrs. H. P.
