It is possible to deposit a thin coatins of copper on iron or steel by the following follow-ing process: Clean the nieL-il thoroughly, washing with a soda solution to remove any grease present. Next dip the metal Into a solution of sulphate of copper, which Is a!so known as blue vitriol, in proportions of two oum-cs of tile sulphate sul-phate to eir,iu ounces of water. Vliile the copper coating will not last as ions as electro-plntinrr nnd will not stalil heavy friction, it is a good rough-iiml-ready method of copper con ting so as to prevent corrosion of tile under metal. 1 |
