Show ENTER FAST FILLIES FOR KENTUCKY OAKS LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 3. -Entries to the historic Kentucky Oaks, to be run at fire Churchill Downs'- spring meet In sr, contain the names of all the high-grade three-year-old fillies of the west, in addition ad-dition to many that showed clever performances per-formances last season1 on the eastern tracks. Among those from the west are Atalanta, Viva America, Olive Wood, Gypsy Queen and Ocean Sweep. all heavy money winners, on the Kentucky tracks last " season, while prominent among the easterners are Rosie O'Grady, Enfilade and Royal Ensign. The list includes in-cludes forty-three thoroughbreds, and, according ac-cording to horsemen, constitutes a remarkable re-markable aggregation. A. K. Ma comber, who captured last year's renewal with Sunbonnet, has entered en-tered his imported Orelans. George J.. Long, who won two years ago with Kathleen, Kath-leen, has nominated Ocean Sweep and Amelita. E. R. Bradley and Morton L. Schwartz of New York have each named three, while Willis Sharp Kilmer. Jefferson Jeffer-son Livingston, Thomas C. McDowell, J. C. Milam and Harry Payne Whitney are among those who have entered two fillies. The Kentucky Oaks first was run In 1875, the same year the Kentucky Derby was instituted, and has been run continuously continu-ously each year since. |
