Show GOVERNMENT BARS LETTERS TO ENEMY Red Cross in Switzerland Not Permitted to Forward Missives Into Territory Occupied by Foe. In the general plan denying mail communication with the enemy, the latest lat-est attempt of conspirators to secure the delivery of letters to persons in Germany and in territory occupied by Germans, has been thwarted by the government. A communication addressed ad-dressed to all postmasters asks that publicity be given to the fact that the offices of the International K-ed Cross society in Switzerland are receiving a large number of letters from the United States in the form of enclosures, -with the request that the enclosed letters be mailed in Switzerland to persons in enemy countries, especially for civilians civil-ians residing in Italian territory occupied occu-pied by the enemy. The public is advised by the postof-fice postof-fice department that the International Red Cross is not available as a channel chan-nel through which to send communications communi-cations to civilians or others in enemy territory or territory now occupied by the enemy forces. |
