Show MOTHER STILL HOPES TO HEAR FROM SON Special to The Tribune. FARMINGTON, March 9. Mrs. Ellen Pierce of this city is anxiously awaiting word from her son, Oliver Pierce, who, she believes, was on the Tuscan ia when it was torpedoed some weeks ago. Mr. Pierce, who had enlisted, wrote to his mother that he was to sail on the Tuscan Tus-can ia, and she has since heard no tiling from him. His name did not appear in the list of survivors or missing, as sent out after the vessel was torpedoed, and Mi-s. Pierce is hoping the young man did not take passage on the vessel. |
