Show HOOSIER PROPERTY TO BE REOPENED Extensive Improvements to the Old Mine Are Planned by the New Owners. One of the biggest bursts of activity that the camp has seen during the past twelve months is under way at the Hoosier mine under the direction of a new company which has just purchased tho property. The construction of a new mill, pipe line and tram are only a few of the improvements planned by the new concern. Nine wealthy business men of Los Angeles and San Francisco who have formed a copartnership for the operation and development of the property, comprise the company, and a deal was recently consummated whereby the four claims comprising the Hoosier group wero transferred from Nels Nelson Nel-son to this company. The monetary consideration con-sideration was not made kuown, but is estimated at around ?:0,0()0 or $40,000, which is the figure Mr. Nelson is known to have set on the property. John Gutendorf, the general manager, man-ager, has plans well tinder way and a largo number of men at work. Three carloads of supplies, lumber and machinery ma-chinery are on the Biding at Jean, and tho new Saner truck which was purchased pur-chased by the company and which arrived ar-rived in camp early in the week, has been busy transporting these to the mine. A well has been sunk on the flat, four and a half miles from the camp, and the water will be piped to the mine in two relays, 2.--incli pipe being used for the first relay and 2-inch pipe for the second. The mill will be a wet concentrator concen-trator of the usual typo, and will be located on a knoll just above the camp. A gravity tramway will connect the mine and the mill. All machinery for the mill has been contracted for, and it is hoped that there will be no great delay in delivery. Mr. Gutendorf expects ex-pects to go to Los Angeles at. once to try to hurry matters along. The first move will he to work the enormous dump, whicli was thoughtlessly placed by some of the leasers so that, it seri-ouslv seri-ouslv interferes with the proper development devel-opment of the1 mine. This dump averages aver-ages about $23 per ton, according to assays, as-says, and there is considerable tonnage. An air compressor has been installed at the mine, where there are some excellent ex-cellent showings, and which has for some time been considered by many as one of the most promising in the district. dis-trict.
