Show State Society EPHRAIM t ; EPHRAIM, March 30. One of the most patriotic and elaborate social functions of the season was the dancing party given in the Social hall Wednesday evening, eve-ning, under the auspices of the Soldiers' welfare committee, in honor of Dr. Oral BeaJ, Lavar Larsen, Paul Hansen and Ross Jensen. Dr. Beal left last week for Washington for duty with the medical corps. Mr. Larsen left Friday for Camp Lewis and Mr. Jensen and Mr. Hansen have been ordered by the local board to be in readiness to leave. The hall was beautifully decorated in the national col-lors col-lors of the allies, with a flag of bleeding Belgium. The programme consisted of selections by double quartettes of the "old boys," who sang "Tenting Tonight" and "Rally 'Round the Flng, Boys," after which the entire audience sang "America." "Amer-ica." Mrs. John Greaves entertained informally infor-mally Saturday afternoon and evening of last week in honor of the anniversary of her' birth. Dinner was served at 6 o'clock to a large number of relatives and friends. Mrs. Rue Nelson of Salina is the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Chris-tensen. Chris-tensen. Miss Dorothy Richardson is expected to return from a three weeks' visit in Salt Lake on Tuesday. - She will be accompanied ac-companied home by Mies Elizabeth Ash-worth, Ash-worth, who will visit friends in Ely. Mrs, Q. L- House entertained at luncheon lunch-eon Thursday in compliment to Mrs. Henry Krumb. Mr. and Mrs. David Boyd-Smith of Mc-Gill Mc-Gill were Ely visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Meyers on Thursday. Mrs. C. G. Barron will entertain the Double E Bridge club next Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Gael Hoag entertained informally for Mrs. Henry Krumb during the week. Mrs. Fran com, head of the surgical dressing department of the Salt Lake branch, visited the Mid-vale Mid-vale department Thursday morning and lectured before an audience of ladles in the Methodist Episcopal church on the work to be done. Mrs. Enoch Tripp entertained a large number of her friends Thursday evening at her home, in honor of Miss Maud Ewing of Richfield, who is visiting here prior to her marriage to Clyde Tripp, which will take place next week. MAGNA f MAGNA, March 30. The Ladies of the Maccabees gave a birthday party in honor of ten of their members Thursday evening. Games were played and prizes were won by Mrs. E. Burke, Mrs. N. Southerland, Mrs. Fittorly, Mrs. R. Peitie and Mrs. J. Mann. Later supper was served and thirty-two persons partook par-took of the lodge's hospitality. Mrs. Vina M. A birthday party was given Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. R. E. Douglas for her little 6-year-old son, Bobby.
