At liig'j mass at the Catheiral of the Madeleine today the sermon will be preached by the Eer. Francis M. Harvey, Har-vey, dean of St. Patrick's seminary, at Menlo Park, Ca!., tha seminr.ry for the archdiocese of San Francisco. Father Harvey is an eloquent speaker and a teacher of the highest ability. Father Harvey came to i-ait Lake to assist in the observance of holy week at the cathedral, and has been the r;iest of the Right Rev. Bishop Joseph f. Glass. C. M. I. P. He preached at the Lenten services Thursday and Fri-dav Fri-dav evenings. Father Harvey leaves this afternoon for Oeden. to catch the Pacific Limited for San Francisco, in order to keep his appointments with his classes. lie is enthusiastic concerning the remodelling of the cathedral exterior and interior by Fdshop Glass, and asserts that the edifice contains a chapter in the history his-tory of ecclesiastical art which should lie taught to and remembered by every j member of the congregation. |
