Show IMPERIAL LEAD TO HAUL WITH TRUCKS Other Improvements Planned to Place the Mine on Shipping Basis. Developments at the Imperial Lead during the past few months have been ot such a character as to warrant the company in making extensive improvements improve-ments tor handling the ore at the mine and from the mine to the railroad, according ac-cording to an announcement maua yesterday yes-terday by Manager J. H. Turner. " New ore bins are being constructed at the mine and a 400-foot surface tram is being installed to handle the ore between be-tween the mine, and the bins. The transportation facilities are being improved im-proved by the addition of trucks to the hauling force. A six-ton Packard left lor the West Tintic propertv Friday and another of like capacitv 'is scheduled sched-uled to leave here next Thursday with equipment for the new tram. Teams have been hauling from the mine to the railroad at Lucerne as the weather would permit practically all winter and several cars of ore " have been sent to the smelter. Because of bad road conditions, however, the shipments ship-ments have been limited. Another car is now on the wav to the smelter and Mr. Turner reports that approximately four cars of good shipping ore has been accumulated on the dump. TVith the two big trucks and available avail-able teams working it. is expected that two to three cars a week mav be sent to the smelter. When all the new equipment equip-ment is in Manager Turner is of the opinion that the daily output jvil be about twenty tons a day from the ore bodies already opened up. |
