The itemized accounts of tho food administration, adminis-tration, filed with the senate and house today, show that the total disbursements disburse-ments out of the congressional appropriation appro-priation for the month of February are $148,088, ou account of the tood administration. ad-ministration. They also show that out of the $50,000,000 invested by tho United Unit-ed states in the grain corporation for the purchase and sale of wheat, flour, beans, etc., for the allies and the government gov-ernment and others, were $1.05,922 for general expenses, $137,749 for storage and insurance. These expenses, however, how-ever, are covered by the grain corporation corpora-tion on tho small differential charged between purchase and sale, so that the government loses nothing jn this operation. oper-ation. The total disbursements of the food administration since its foundation on August 10, 1917, to February 28, has been, for salaries and expenses under the congressional appropriation, $659,-624. $659,-624. The total disbursements on the conservation con-servation campaign, provided by the president out of presidential funds, show $743,605 since the tenth of August, Au-gust, when' the food act was passed, and $294,109 prior to that date.
