Ball, secret a ry-t reat-urer of the Klk Basin United Oil company, received notice eterday that the company's v.-cll recently started i n the Garnet t, Kan., fikj was down 400 f":t. It is expected that the oil ? arris will be tapped at a deoth of about 10t feet. Under favorable v-orking conditions it is believed the well wiil be finished by April 10. If oil Is encountered in '-ommer'.-ial rjLantit.ies, the nanament plans to let contractus for the (3 rilling of other wells as soon as possible.
