Show Dr.. LORTX F. RICH, who' has been n.imec! first lieutenant in the army reserve re-serve corps. LA GETS C1I5SI0I FOR UEUIEIIIC! Dr. Lorin F. Rich Will Be Officer in Army Reserve Re-serve Corps. Dr. .Lorin F. Rich, well known in the medical profession of Salt Lake and a prominent member of the Elks' lodge of this city, yesterday received notice of his : appointment as first lieutenant in the army reserve corps. The notification came in the form of a certificate, beautifully beau-tifully engraved and signed by the secretary secre-tary of war. A telegram to the doctor notified him that upon his acceptance of tlie commission commis-sion he would, in all probability, be assigned as-signed to duty at Fort Douglas. The doctor doc-tor replied by wire to the war department depart-ment notifying the proper officials of his acceptance. He expects to be detailed to the fort for active service within a few weeks. Dr. Rich has been a practicing physician physi-cian for over fourteen years. He formerly for-merly resided Jn Rexburg, Idaho, and it was there that he became interested in the national guard of that state, serving three years in the ranks as a private. When the call came for reserve officers Dr. Rich was one of the first to make application. ap-plication. Passing successfully all the technical, physical and mental examinations examina-tions he has now been rewarded by receiving re-ceiving a commission as first lieutenant, which places him in line for quick promotion. |
