Show NEW YORK'S HEALTH RECORD IMPROVES NEW YORK. July 11. New York experienced ex-perienced the most healthful year in its history in 1916, according to the department depart-ment of health's annual report issued today. Despite the infantile paralysis epidemic, the death rate was 13. S9 per 1000, the lowest on record. Increase- in violent deaths, many of them among children, the majority of which might have been prevented, the department says, is reported for 1016, thfe number being 4235, as compared with 3S19 the preceding year. Many of these fatalities occurred from burns. |
