Show FEE Mill BUREAU 10 OPEN Quarters Secured on West South Temple Street for Office Uses. Giving to the fact that the city administration admin-istration has not found it advisable to permit the state industrial commission to use the old police headquarters on East First South street for a free employment em-ployment bureau, it, was decided to open the bureau at 153 West South Temple street, where quarters were offered free of rental by Herman Bamberger. The bureau will be open for business next Monday morning at 8 o'clock. At a meeting of the seneral committee in the office of the Manufacturers' Association As-sociation of Utah yesterday morning an executive committee, consisting of J. Knerr of the state Industrial commission, was appointed to outline a general policy for the management of the i bureau and to decide any questions that may arise concerning the work of the bureau. The members of the committee i will serve without pay. Employers are - urged to file with the bureau any needs which they may have for help, and those seeking employment are asked to 'make application in person if possible, and on being referred to a place or an employer where there is a vacancy tney will be given a certificate setting forth the nature of the employment, employ-ment, the wages paid and general working work-ing conditions. It will be the purpose of the bureau to keep in touch with all parts of the state and labor conditions generally with a view to reducing the prevailing shortage short-age of labor by distributing it more efficiently ef-ficiently over the state than is accomplished accom-plished by the average employment bureau. |
