Newly instituted wax emergency curbs on trading at Kansas Kan-sas City and St Louis, together with a prospective additional check on transactions transac-tions here, brought about much nervousness nervous-ness today in the corn market. After breaking all hi eh price records for the season, quotations closed unsettled at i& to 2 -lie net advance, with September 51.594 1.59 and December at $1.21 1.2U. Wheat finished c off to a like advance at $2.03 for July and $1.91 for September. Oats gained to 2c, and provisions were unchanged to 10c lower. Buying on the part of shorts carried corn prices sharply upgrade and then a break ensued on word , that a meeting of the Chicago board of trade directors had been ''called. Rains in Texas and Oklahoma failed to offset reports that irreparable damage had been done in Oklahoma and that a drought area, extended ex-tended northward to tlte Dakotas. Wheat swayed with corn but kept within narrow .limits. Harvesting of winter wheat was said to be making favorable progress and there also were advices of improvement in the general condition of the spring crop. In the oats crop the chief influence was the fact that despite numerous fluctuations fluc-tuations the corn market averaged higher. high-er. Bearish field reports regarding oats were thus more than counter-balanced. Provisions received but meager support Some of the best recent buyers were conspicuous con-spicuous in the selling. AMERICAN FORK. July 11. John Curzon left here Tuesday for Wig mountain, moun-tain, in Tooele county, to begin development develop-ment work on the property of the Wig Mountain Mining and Milling company. He took a small force of men with him and was Joined at Salt L.ake by the owners own-ers of the Twin Metais property, which adjoins the Wig mine. They will go to the property together and will co-operate in the development work. This mining property is located on Wig mountain. In Tooele county, and from the little development work now done gives promise of being heard from in the near future with satisfactory , reports. Rock from the surface shows excellent assays, running as high as fifty -one ounces in silver and 40 to 4o per cent lead, with some gold values. New York Listed Quotations. J. A.
