" ' - r if L v GERARD WILL SPEAK TO BOIIIIE CLUB Former Ambassador to i Germany to Be Dinner Guest in August. James V. Gerard, former ambassador to Germany, will address the Bonneville club some time during the month of August. Au-gust. The date has not been set. The acceptance by Mr. Gerard of the invitation invita-tion was received yesterday by George O. Relf. The letter stated that Mr. Gerard would be glad to address the club some time during August. Mr. Gerard is the first of those' who were present in Germany during wartimes war-times to address the club, and since he Is in a position to know internal conditions in that empire his address is expected to be enlightening. When diplomatic relations re-lations were broken off between the United States and Germany in March last Mr. Gerard was recalled as the representative rep-resentative of this .country to Germany. He served for almost four years as ambassador am-bassador to Germany, having been appointed ap-pointed by President Wilson in - June, 1913. He succeeded Dr. David Jayne Hill. |
