BOWMAN was hostess yesterday afternoon at a delightfully informal luncheon piven at her attractive home on Harvard avenue in compliment to .Mrs. Alex Thomas of Ukiah, Cal., who Is hnre visiting Mrs. Elbridge L. Mrs. Moss Woolf and daughter, Miss Nettie Woolf, left this week for an extended ex-tended trip through the eastern states. Miss Woolf expects to remain some time in New York. Mr. and Mrs. Seymour L. Billings, Jr., are receiving congratulations on the arrival ar-rival of a little son. Mrs. Billings was formerly Miss Martha Watson. Mrs. Jack Langen backer has returned to her home in this city after spending a month with friends in San Diego, Los Angeles and the beaches. Dj. and Mrs. J. C. Littell will leave today for Seattle, Wash., where Dr. Littell Lit-tell will report for duty at the marine corps recruit ing station there. The Lit-tells Lit-tells have made their home here for the past five years and have many friends in the city. Recently Dr. Littell has been acting as assistant surgeon at the marine recruiting station here. Mr. and "-Mrs. Jay Tarvin 'Harris and children, Suzanne and Bransford, have returned from a three weeks' tour by automobile au-tomobile through Idaho and Wyoming. Mr. and Mrs. Harris will leave early In August for an extended motor trip through Montana. Mr. and Mrs. J. Walcott Thompson have gone to Yosemite, where they will pass a month.
