Show PENSIONS OF INDIAN VETERANS DELAYED Several hundred veterans of the Black-hawk Black-hawk Indian wars are still waiting for pensions due them under the act of March 4, 1017, owing to red tape at Washington. Wash-ington. D. C, according to Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth M. Cohen, recorder of the Indian war veteran office in the capitol, although al-though having fully established their right to participate in the pension fbnd. Mrs. Cohen states that she knows many of the veterans and widows of veterans are in dire need for the actual necessaries of life. Many of the survivors of the Blackhawk Indian wars are now entitled lo four months' accumulated pensions, the act having become effective immediately upon its passage. |
