Morgan Johnson entertained Monday afternoon at the Meyrick home with a reception for the ladies of the local Eastern East-ern Star chapter, in honor of Mrs. Minnie Min-nie Haslet of Ogden, worthy grand matron of the Eastern Star of Utah. About twenty members of the order were present. In the evening a banquet was given in Masonic hall following a business session, at which Mrs. Haslet was also the complimented guest. In a very appropriate ap-propriate presentation speech Mrs. A. Crane, on behalf of the chapter, presented pre-sented Mrs. Haslet with a beautiful piece of cut glass. The Twentieth Century club was entertained enter-tained Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. George Christensen. Mrs. J. P. Neff concluded the reading of Israel Zangwill's drama. Miss Sarah Christensen was pleasantly surprised Tuesday evening, the occasion being her thirteenth birthday anniversary. Twenty-five Twenty-five friends were present and spent the evening in games and music. Miss Chrlstensen Chrls-tensen was presented with a beautiful painting. The citizens of Redmond gave a party last Tuesday ' in compliment to " Corporal Leland Anderson of troop G, national guard of Utah, lie being the only resident resi-dent of that city who served on the Mexican Mexi-can border. A programme was rendered at the opera house, where Mr. Anderson was presented with a gold watch, the presentation speech being made by Mayor Peterson. Refreshments were served. Miss "Lillian Sparks returned to Fayette Sunday after spending a few days with her mother. Mrs. Kdward Chllds, Sr., of Gunnison is spending a few days with relatives and friends in this city.
