McKay of the county recorder's office states that remarkable demonstration made by J. W. Spiker, Randall-Dodd salesman, clinched his decision to buy a National Highway Six club roadster. I When J. W. Spiker, the 'Randall-Dodd salesman whv was demonstrating the National club roadster to .'I. H. McKay drew up in front of the Randall-Dodd Auto company 's sales room after the demonstration there was nothing to do but cipiete the final details with the accounting department and the sale was made. "It was the most wonderful demonstration demon-stration T have ever witnessed,'' exclaimed ex-claimed McKay delightedly. "We took every hill that is used ordinarily for demonstration hills that other cars that have been demonstrated to me within the past ten days could not negotiate nego-tiate even ou intermediate, while the National Highway Six purred over the most difficult in 'high' without a murmur. mur-mur. "Spiker then turned her nose otit into the countrv, and we started out on one of the long paved stretches headed towards to-wards Ggden. Xo, he didn't 6ee how fast the National could go. I wouldn't let him! But we did run the indicator on the speedometer dial around to the fifty-five mark and there was 'oodles' of power untouched. ''Then by way of variety he showed i me what I considered the most wonder-! fnl feature of the demonstration. ' Choosing an unfrequented paved street. was shown just how slow a good auto- i mobile can travel in high gear without buckling or killing the engine. Slower and slower we went farther and farther far-ther back dropped the hand on the dial. 'Only five miles an hour!' I exclaimed. 'Now look!' said Spiker. And I could scarcely believe my eyes, for the faith- ful talisman showed that we were running run-ning at under three miles an hour. 'Can ! you make it any slower?' I asked. I 'Watch,' said he. And the dial dropped j to two, one and a half, one and quar- ter, one, three-quarters, and then as we j barely crept along, the speedometer reg- 1 istered zero with the hand faintly trembling. trem-bling. "That we were reallv going slow was further demonstrated by the fact that we both got out and walked slowly beside be-side the car as it rolled along steadily, noiselessly, and as smoothly as though the engine were running at high speed." |
