Show HANDBALL TOURNEY NEARS THE FINALS The first week of the Deseret gymnasium gym-nasium handball tournament came to a close vesterday with the playing of two fast matches." The first was won hy Lee Lund from V. M. Whitney. The scores were 2114 and 2 1 - It. A. .T. Anderson An-derson finished the dav bv defeating F. Umpleby. 21-13 and 21-1. Lund is a newcomer in the handball art and made a good showing in his initial match yesterday. Anderson was incut. 1 ' an easy winner over Umpleby, having little trouble to kill the ball at will. The tournament will be continued Monday with three matches. The winners win-ners of these contests will enter the semi-finals to battle their way to the final game. The first match tomorrow will be between B. F. Reeves and George Dent at 12:30. Lee Lund and T. Stewart are scheduled for 4 o'clock and the final battle of the dav will be between R. W. Butler and J. R. Bell at 5 o 'clock. |
