Show THB bowling season is nearly over. Last week there were some classy mixes at both places, the Or-pheum Or-pheum alleys and Quinn's. Chief among them were the matches between be-tween the Cubs and the Union Assay quint and between the Cubs and Stie-fel's Stie-fel's bunch of pegswatters, the Cubs taking tak-ing both events, although they had tough sledding with each. The K. C. schedule wound up Thursday night. Iri the Telephone league tbe Maintenance Mainte-nance crew cinched first place by taking three straight. This week second place is the bone of contention in the Telephone league. The Construction quint is in the position now', but the Murrays can grab it if they can win three straight or tie for it with two out of three. "Cap" Jeglum now has tlie top of tlie average column clinched and Hummell is second. Jeglum gave the high-three mark a whack when he beat his own former record rec-ord of 590 by three pins. This week will see the main event of the year the Individual City championship champion-ship tourney for cup and other prizes. This event has been won by "Pop" Hanes for tlie past two years in succession and he may pull it down again, as he can sure spill the maples when he is right. It will start Tuesday night and is open to every bowler In the city. No entrance fee will be charged to bowl for the cup and entrants are urged to hand" in their names as soon as possible. Twenty-seven Twenty-seven games will be rolled in all, three on each alley at the Orpheum drives. More Special Events. Monday night the Business Men, Broadways and the Ivanhoes will roll for the big silver loving cup which was put up by the Brunswick -Balke-Collender company. One of the teams will be eliminated elimi-nated at this match and the remaining two will shoot a series to decide the final winner of the cup. The Telephone league's big endurance contest will be rolled on the Qulnn drives at the close of the week and is expected to furnish all kinds of excitement for the fans. There are a number of huskies In this bunch and they will make it strenuous stren-uous enough for anyone. A loving cup goes to the winner of this event and there will also be substantial prizes for second and third places. The Plntas, who won the first position in the K. C. league, have challenged the Maintenance squad to bowl a series of games and the latter team has decided to accept, although the date has not yet been set. These events, together with the regular schedule of the 1 Telephone league, are expected to keep 1 the alley bugs busy for another week, at ! least. The Telephone league endurance . contest is open to all bowlers in the !
