Acting on th?. recommendation rec-ommendation of Commissioner Chris Fly-garc, Fly-garc, the city engineer and the city attorney, at-torney, tho board of city commissioners today adopted a resolution authorizing tlic publication of the notice of intention to ropavo Twenty-fifth street between Wall and Washington avennr-s and ono block on Wall avonuc bolwcen Twenty-fourth Twenty-fourth and Twenty-fifth .streets. The cost of the proposed Improvement Is estimated esti-mated at ?o2,10ii. which fund will bo provided pro-vided by a local and special assessment on the abutting property. This action of the commissioners is the first definite step in tho long campaign to Improve tho almost impassable condition condi-tion of one of Ogden's prlnclpul business streets. i-Jeneving mat tne street snotuu be improved with money from the gen-oral gen-oral fund, many of the property owners defeated the plan for improving tho Ftrcct. Since assuming his office on January 1, Commissioner Flygarc has devoted de-voted muoh of bis tlmo in an effort to bring about tho Improvement of Twenty-fifth Twenty-fifth street. Under tho terms of tho notice authorized author-ized today, all of the asphalt wearing surface ls to be removed and also all parts of tho concrete base which have been broken or worn by reason of the holes developing in l!m surface covering. After tho asphalt Is removed It may he found necessary to replace much of the concrete base, but provisions have been made for this. The improvements will also include reguttcring of the standard concrete type. As tho Ogden Rapid Transit company has already been granted permission to use concrete on its right of way, this form of pavement will be constructed over the strip occupied by the street car tracks. Because of the very bad condition condi-tion of the sired, it is Commissioner Flyghre's intention to push the work as rapidly a3 possible.
