According to tho Morning Post's Sydnoy correspondent, corre-spondent, negotiations aro proceeding for tho appointinont of Alfred' Deakiu, former premier, as permanent high commissioner for Australia in tho 'fjnitcd States, the appointment to be in addition to his temporary post as chief of Australia's Panama-Pacific exposition ex-position commission. If tho proposal is carried into effect, ef-fect, the correspondent adds, the Bten will be an important one inasmuch as it -may reopen tho whole question of tho Ioro'in relationship of the 'British colonial dominions.
